Each year Sport Bay of Plenty invites nominations from all regional sports organisations, clubs and secondary schools. From these submissions, the judges select finalists with winners announced at an elaborate dinnertime ceremony where honours are given to outstanding athletes, coaches, officials and administrators for their contributions that year.
