Billy Bragg will be going on a tour to New Zealand called “One Step Forward, Two Steps Back.” On consecutive nights he’ll perform in Wellington. First night’s show consists of his current set which ranges across 35 years. The second is made up from songs off three albums: punk rock debut Life’s A Riot with Spy vs Spy (1983), its raw follow-up Brewing Up With Billy Bragg (1984) and Talking with the Taxman About Poetry(1986).
Billy Bragg has been travelling for more than three decades and is looking forward to having some time in the city between soundchecks. This will be a new experience, as he usually only gets them when moving from one gig to another during his tours around the world.
A man from Barking, Billy Bragg has been a recording artist for over 35 years. His career began during the Tory era when he was inspired by their lack of love and justice. He ultimately decided to leave his job in the army after buying out himself at £175 which later became one of best decisions ever made.
